Workflow & expectations

Do I need to be available during specific hours?

No. We don’t operate on set working hours. We care about clear communication, reliability, and delivering projects on time.

We host an optional weekly check-in on Mondays at 9:30 AM PST. It’s not required, but it’s a helpful way to stay aligned on active projects. Meetings typically last 15–30 minutes.

How are projects assigned?

Projects are assigned based on availability, skillset, and overall fit. As the working relationship develops, project flow typically becomes more consistent.

What is expected in terms of communication?

We expect clear, professional communication and timely responses during active projects. All project communication is handled through the Basecamp app, which we provide access to—no additional tools or subscriptions required.

Do you provide training or onboarding?

We provide guidance on our process and systems, including the platforms we use. Most new builds are developed in RW Elements, while existing projects are primarily in Weavers Space F6, with a smaller number in Elementor.

We work with developers who are comfortable adapting to new tools and can operate independently without extensive training.

Compensation and stability

How does compensation work?

Compensation is structured as a monthly retainer based on an agreed level of ongoing project support. Payments are issued once or twice per month, as agreed in advance, and can be processed through Gusto or by company invoice, depending on your preference.

As the working relationship develops, both scope and compensation may evolve based on consistency, performance, and overall fit.

Is work guaranteed?

We aim to build long-term partnerships and typically bring on new developers as consistent project flow becomes available. While we work to maintain steady workloads, project volume can fluctuate.

If a reduction in scope is needed, we make every effort to provide 30–60 days’ notice whenever possible.

Ownership & rights

Who owns the work that is produced?

All work is completed on behalf of One Eleven Web Design™ for our clients. As a partner, you are contributing to projects under our brand and delivery process.

Can I showcase the work in my portfolio?

Yes. You’re welcome to showcase work you’ve contributed to, as long as it’s presented professionally and accurately reflects your role. One Eleven Web Design™ must be credited as the agency behind the project.

Relationship & representation

Will I be given a One Eleven Web Design™ email address?

In some cases, we provide a One Eleven Web Design™ email address for partners who interact directly with clients or are working under a company software license. This helps maintain consistency and a cohesive client experience.

Am I an employee of One Eleven Web Design™?

No. Our partnerships are structured as independent contractor relationships. You operate as your own business and are not an employee of One Eleven Web Design™.

Will I be listed on your website?

In some cases, we may feature partners on our website or team pages, depending on the nature of the working relationship and level of ongoing collaboration.

Can I list One Eleven Web Design™ on my LinkedIn or publicly represent the partnership?

Yes. You’re welcome to reference your work with One Eleven Web Design™, including listing yourself as a web developer working with or for One Eleven Web Design™. Please ensure it accurately reflects the partnership and does not represent you as an employee.

Will I receive a 1099?

U.S.-based partners will receive a Form 1099-NEC for applicable payments. International partners are responsible for handling their own local tax requirements.

Who owns the client relationship?

All client relationships are managed by One Eleven Web Design™ to ensure consistency in communication, delivery, and overall experience.

Flexibility and availability

Can I adjust my workload if my availability changes?

Yes. We understand that your availability may change over time. If you need to adjust your level of involvement, we ask for reasonable notice so we can plan accordingly and ensure a smooth transition across active projects.

What happens if I take on a large project or become temporarily unavailable?

No problem. We work with independent developers who manage their own clients and workload. If something changes on your end, just communicate early so we can adjust timelines or redistribute work as needed.

Can I reduce or pause my retainer?

Yes. If your availability changes, you can adjust or pause your retainer. We appreciate advance notice so we can reallocate work across other developers. We understand you manage your own clients and workload, and aim to maintain long-term partnerships with flexibility on both sides.
